Heading in to Ōtaki for the Kite Festival? Sit back, relax, and avoid the traffic this Waitangi Day with the Kite Flyer Express!
You’ll spend over an hour and a half at the Kite Festival and still have time to explore the Ōtaki retail precinct and fabulous Ōtaki Yard Market. Your fare includes return bus transfer to Ōtaki Beach. Departures available from both Paraparaumu and Waikanae stations.
Each carriage will be identified by a letter, please book all members of your group in the same carriage (eg: A, B, C etc) to ensure you are able to travel together. On the day – please board the carriage displaying the letter on your ticket. Tickets will be checked upon boarding and passengers will be provided with a wristband for bus transfers to Ōtaki Beach.
Train 2 Schedule
- 10:20am Depart Paraparaumu
- 10:30am Depart Waikanae
- 2:30pm Return Departure from Ōtaki (Approx 45 minute journey back to Paraparaumu)

- Child (2 to 13 years old) $20
- Infants under 2 years old (must be travelling on the lap of a fare paying adult) FREE
*All fares include beach bus transfer. A $5 payment processing fee will be charged at checkout.
