Show in a Week is open to any child aged 7-14 years old with the enthusiasm to perform on stage. No previous experience necessary!

Performers DO NOT have to audition to take part in the ensemble, all are welcome. Those that wish to play a featured role will need to take part in an audition process on Sunday, 22 September. Performers are not auditioning for specific parts, the panel will cast all featured roles based on the audition. The production team will be in contact with those concerned to confirm an audition time.

FAQs

What do we need to bring each day?
You should pack snacks, lunch and a water bottle. For security, we don’t let students leave the venue at lunch time or in breaks unless accompanied by a chaperone. A pencil and paper often come in very useful! Please wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for active movement and dance not ‘glitz and glamour’. Jazz shoes or other sports shoes are essential (no jandals please). Jeans are very difficult to dance in!

What about dinner on Friday?
On Friday we will provide pizza for dinner before the  evening performance, please advise us of any specific dietary requirements. Alternatively you can bring in their own meal from home.

What happens if we have to miss some of the course?
We try to be as flexible as we can. If a student just misses a few hours (anywhere up to a whole day), we can normally work around this as long as they’re willing to do a little work to catch up. The more time missed, the harder it is to include the student in the whole show – we work this out on a case by case basis. We’ll always do our best to compensate! If a student is going to miss one or more shows, please let us know – we’ll try to structure things so that their part can be covered by another student for the performances they will miss.

Do we have to audition?
There is no audition needed to be part of the course. In September we hold auditions for those who are keen to have a featured role in the performance. These auditions are completely optional, and very low-stress!

How do I get tickets to the performances?
Each participant received 2 free tickets to the show as part of their registration.  Further tickets will be available for purchase through our online ticking platform closer to the performance. Adult $10, Child $5.
